Helping Hand Home for Children was proud to honor University of Texas Vice President and Athletics Director, Chris Del Conte by unveiling a colorful mural in our playground pavilion designed by artist Danielle DaVerona that symbolizes Chris’ father Robert’s commitment to children in foster care. The Del Contes operated a group home for abused and neglected children in New Mexico and served more than 150 children in foster care during that time. Chris’ humbling childhood experience shaped his personal and professional commitments to his family, college athletics, and organizations like Helping Hand Home which provides nurturing and therapeutic healing to the children in our care.
