The Crystal Ball Gala
On March 3, 2012 The Crystal Ball “In the Garden” was presented by the Helping Hand Society and Gala Co-Chairs Dinah Barksdale and Jana Howden. The Crystal Ball, now in its 69th year, is the largest fundraising event benefiting Helping Hand Home for Children. Highlights of The Crystal Ball included the presentation of the thirty-two Debutantes, their Escorts, and Junior Escorts. The Helping Hand Boys and Girls were also presented that night. The program was followed by a dinner from Catering by Rosemary and dancing to the sounds of Memphis Train. Bidders were treated to Silent Auction items including vacations, hunting trips, sports packages, and much more. Over 300 “Surprise Boxes” were swept up by excited guests and one lucky raffle winner walked away with a beautiful pair of diamond hoop earrings donated by Joe Koen & Sons Jewelers. Thank you to all of our incredible volunteers and generous donors and supporters who helped raise more than $1M for Helping Hand Home for Children. Funds raised will support therapeutic treatment services, enrichment activities and education services for every child at the Home.
